Dear readers of this blog,
In case any of you have been worried about me, due to my silence on this blog over the past couple of months, I’d like to reassure you that, although I recently went through a very rough time, I am now back at work and am gradually returning to my routine activities (such as moderating and updating this blog). Unfortunately, I still can’t provide a date as to when the paperback version of Fat White Vampire Otaku will be available or when my other completed novels will be out from MonstraCity Press, either in ebook or trade paperback form. Right now, taking care of our boys and their needs is a full-time job for Dara, and it is almost a second full-time job for me. I can’t predict when she will find herself with the spare time and spare energy to return to her role at MonstraCity Press. However, in the meantime, I will endeavor to update this blog reasonably regularly with fresh content. Thank you all for your patience and understanding and for your continuing support. It means the world to me.
Best wishes to all,
Andy Fox
We’re with you, Andy! I’ll be patient as you’ll be persistent, and when the boys are better, you and Dara will have so much to be proud of for your herculean efforts. I’ve been reading memoirs recently about bad parents in a text for a writing workshop, and have been reminded that it’s easy to forget heroism of parenting like yours and Dara’s, because we don’t often observe the miserably failed parenting.
An example from Mary McCarthy: http://books.google.com/books?id=0MJZ5T7VFi0C&source=gbs_similarbooks (Incidentally, I didn’t read the excerpt from McCarthy’s linked work as a slam against Catholics so much as an honest report of bad parenting by embezzling surrogate parents.)

Dear Leslie,
Thank you so much for your kind words of support! They mean very much to me, especially at this time. Going through rough times can make one feel extremely lonely on occasion, so receiving a message like this from you is a balm. Thank you again, and good luck with all your endeavors. Please continue to keep in touch.
All my best,
Andy Fox
Like Leslie just said, we’re with you, Andy. Some writers are worth waiting for, however long the gaps between blog posts or books. You’re one of them. Welcome back!
Dear Wesley,
Thanks so much for your expression of support. As I said to Leslie, it means the world to me. And it is always good to hear from you. Take good care.
Best wishes,
Andy Fox
Hi. I just rediscovered your “Fat White Vampire Blues” and “Bride of the…..” which I bought when we were in New Orleans way way back in the early 00’s. I don’t remember where I got them, but one is autographed. I’m now remembering how much fun I had reading them the first time and now the second! I decided to search out to see if you had any other books and found your blog. I hope you don’t find it presumptuous of me to wish you well with whatever you and your wife are dealing with. I so enjoy your books and am so glad I found them again and just hope all the best to you and, yes, selfishly, I will wait with excitement on any new publications! Take care!
Dear Sally,
Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful, encouraging feedback on the two “Fat White Vampire” novels with me. In case you’re able to read a Kindle file, the third book in the series, Fat White Vampire Otaku, is available from Amazon in that format. And I truly appreciate your good wishes regarding Dara’s and my current challenges. Things are actually looking up, so, who knows? Perhaps within a year Dara and I will be able to return to our MonstraCity Press, which has been on hiatus since last spring, and put out some new books of mine. Keep watching this site for updates! And thanks again for writing; I appreciate it very much.
